A Sculptural Candleholder by Kjell Engman for Kosta Boda
A striking iron and glass candleholder designed by Kjell Engman for Kosta Boda, Sweden, in the 1970s. Four cylindrical glass candleholders are set into a solid wrought iron frame — the combination of industrial ironwork and delicate glass is quintessentially Scandinavian Modern, and the piece is substantial in both weight and presence.
When lit, the four candles create a warm, layered glow that plays beautifully through the glass cylinders and casts soft shadows from the iron structure. A genuinely atmospheric piece, as functional today as when it was made.
