A rare and complete matching set of three cylindrical pendant lamps — Model 16542 — designed by Eila & John Meiling for Louis Poulsen in the 1970s. Clean, restrained, and quietly confident, these lamps are a textbook expression of Danish minimalist design at its most enduring.
Eila & John Meiling worked in close collaboration with Louis Poulsen, one of Denmark's most storied lighting manufacturers, producing a series of cylindrical pendants that have become quietly sought-after among collectors of Scandinavian mid-century design. The Model 16542 — finished in off-white with a grey inner rim — is among their most distinctive: simple in form, considered in proportion, and remarkably versatile in context.
Acquiring all three as a matched set is genuinely unusual. They work beautifully hung together at varying heights over a dining table or kitchen island, or distributed individually across a room.
